"Shampa Basu, MA (CU), MPhil (JU): Graduated from Bethune College in the year 1993 with a first class and securing first rank from the humanities department of the college. She did her masters from Calcutta University with a first class as well in the year 1995. Shampa pursued her M.Phil degree from Jadavpur Univrsity in 1997 and the title of her dissertation was “Nayasammata Upaman Pramana”. Post her M.Phil she has worked as a research assistant for a period of one year under renowned Prof. Sibajiban Bhattacharya, Editorial Fellow funded by Project of History of Indian Science Philosophy and Culture. She joined the institution in the year 2000 as a lecturer.
